Project 2: Social Media

I got these memes from Memegan, Reddit and Know your Meme. This project was super interesting to use memes in a social political way and to depict them. I used the social issue of gay marriage. Gay marriage has always been seen as a social issue when it only effect those who are getting married who are homosexual but it interests me and Rushkoff and Boyd helped show what the memes were describing and what us as society must do with a constant evolving world. From a standpoint of being heterosexual it has showed me so much of our society being so involved in a topic that does not affect us or the future of our country even. It only affects those getting married who are gay. Every love is different.

I am Colette Smith, a 19 year old girl attending Washington State University! I am a sophomore here at WSU in the Delta Gamma Sorority. I am from California and traveled up here with my two siblings.. which makes me a triplet! I am very family orientated and love the community here at Pullman as well. I am creating this blog to to post media content for my communication class 210. As I am a communication major I also am involved in the art and ADMT programs here. I chose communication to give me a wide variety of jobs in the field that I can combine with art or fashion in the future of my careers! With that I love being creative and making art. I paint canvases a lot and pretty much anything! I can sew my own clothes and have started designing! Communication has given me so much interest in movies and all the behind the scenes communication needed to get any job done. It is a huge passion of mine to use communication and art to get a job within movie production as a set designer or stylist!
