This project was in the design folder entitled “create a business card”. I created a personal business card that I am actually going to have printed for myself to advertise my arts. I am a graphic designer as well as photographer. I have done work for clothing brands, and have photographed weddings as well as work for NCAA athletes. I was inspired by another graphic designer named Michael Walchalk that I follow on Instagram. I designed the card on Adobe Illustrator. The front of the card has an illustrated self portrait that I did of myself with my domain to my website below it. I also have a thumbprint on the left corner to give the card a unique look. On the back are links to my Facebook and Instagram pages to view my portfolio as well as my email address for contact reasons. I do commissioned graphic design work as a fun side job. I decided to make the back of the card a dark blue and the front white to give it a clear contrast and hopefully strike the eye of whoever is holding it. I also place another finger print in the right corner for style reasons. This project went in hand with things that I already enjoy doing so I decided it would be a fitting project to complete.

This is the logo that I will be using for my blog. I do a lot of graphic illustrations and had never taken a shot at drawing one of myself. The red logo is my personal logo that I use for my work. This is made up of a few brush strokes to make the circle shape and my actual signature on top. To create the portrait I used Adobe Illustrator’s pen tool to create the outline and different shaded areas. I then expand outline and make it into a “live paint object” to allow myself to fill in the blank areas with the correct colors. Once this is all done I create a new layer for the eyebrows and facial hair. To do the beard I used a Wacom tablet to draw each hair with different brush sets/thicknesses. After this is done I go around the filled in eyebrow area with brush strokes to create a more realistic look. To make this look more like a logo I added a circle around the illustration. This gives viewers of my blog a good sense that the majority of my projects are design based and that graphic design is what I do.
