I chose the assignment title “Make That Money” in the visual section of the assignment page. I picked it because I thought it would be fun to try and I enjoy finding money with drawings or writing on it. I edited this picture using the program Adobe Illustrator.

I chose the assignment Barcode Transformation and it asked to create an image using a barcode. I used adobe illustrator to create the umbrella and then layered it on top of an image of a barcode to make it look like rain.

The assignment was called “The best way to spread cheer is making cards for all to see” and it just asked to make a card for someone using a design program. I looked around for some ideas for greeting cards and then used Adobe Illustrator to create this image. I like cards that have an eye catching front side and are blank on the back. I didn’t want to make anything specific so I thought I’d make a card that could be used for any occasion.

I chose the visual assignment Splash of Color because back in the day I used to love doing this to my photos. The assignment asked to take a photo and take out all of the color except for one aspect of the picture. After I started editing this picture I realized that I probably could have made things easier for myself if I picked a picture with a more defined object to color. Although this didn’t end up being that much more difficult than I thought. I used Photoshop and made a new adjustment layer to black and white, then I used the magic wand and the selection brush to highlight the heart in the picture. After I had everything selected I deleted it and this was the result!

I chose the visual assignment 5 dots 4 lines and 1 curve because it allowed me to be creative and think outside the box. When I first started I created 5 dots all the same size and 4 lines all the same size and it was a little difficult imagining something to create. Then I started looking at examples and got inspired by the eye and thought I could recreate it in my own way. I also noticed it said “play with size, color, texture and overlaying,” that’s when I decided to start messing with different style brushes for the lines. I think it’s pretty interesting that I can create a vectorized eye only using 10 parts if I use the right colors, textures and techniques. It shows that you can create something big with little supplies in design programs like Adobe Illustrator.

I chose the assignment “Unsuspecting Friends”. The description said to take pictures of friends without them knowing, this immediately grabbed my attention because I have a collection of photos on my phone of just that. I titled the album “sleepy friends” and have about 92 pictures of friends passed out in different places/positions from over the years. Everyone pictured is aware that I have these and we laugh about it all the time. I picked just a few of my favorites and organized them into this collage by their orientation and similarities.
