Three Moon Wolf Stories

For the Three Moon Wolf Stories, the web assignment instructs to leave a comment or review on an online shopping site (such as Amazon) for a peculiar item. The comment needs to be satirical, ironic, and subtle in nature, just like the comment for the Three Moon Wolf shirt presented in the assignment. I found a bacon action figure on Amazon and decided it fit well for this assignment. I will post the comment here on the blog, as follows (since the review I posted on the site is getting processed).

“Mr. Bacon has proven to be a great gift for my son, who is a bacon enthusiast. He takes Mr. Bacon along with him everywhere he goes, and it has proven to be a durable toy with its plastic, bendy material. My son prefers to surround himself with very little company and Mr. Bacon’s evil grin has become quite good at keeping other children away, which my son and I have been grateful for. However, I do wish they offered a Mrs. Bacon so my son could have more fun playing with toys. Mr. Bacon definitely needs a lady to save when he isn’t busy saving the world from destruction, or so my son says. Overall, Mr. Bacon is the perfect toy for my child. Best $5 I have ever spent.”

I decided to offer the viewpoint coming from a parent because it is less susceptible from being flagged as a “troll.” Although, that can easily be pointed out as soon as the entire review has been read. The purpose of this assignment was to see if any other comments followed suit with this item, so we’ll see if my comment on the site gets any attention.

Create a Warning Poster

I decided to make a warning poster for this week’s assignment. The instructions say to make a poster warning people about a danger, whether it being imaginary, comical, or elaborate. I decided to do a poster warning of college students. I imagine this sign getting hung up somewhere in a campus library, perhaps during finals week for both non-students and students alike. I feel that the last line of the sign really leaves the mind to wander about what really would happen if someone were to disobey the sign. College students can be frightening and the possibilities are endless.

Shakespearean LOLcat

I chose to do the “Shakespearean LOLcat” visual assignment. This assignment calls for a picture of a cat matched with a fitting Shakespearean quote. At first I wasn’t sure what to do for this assignment but it seemed like a fun one to do. First, I searched for a list of Shakespearean quotes and found one that I liked. I chose a quote from Hamlet that reads “I must be cruel, only to be kind.” The quote essentially means “tough love.” Although you may not enjoy what you are being put through by someone else, it will help you in the long run.

Next, I paired that quote with the image I found here. I thought this picture was pretty fitting. Maybe the other cat had stopped eating due to a recent break up? Or maybe it just needs more vitamins in its diet. I am not sure what the other cat was thinking, pushing the other cat’s face down into its food bowl like that, but I’m sure it was trying to help its friend for the sake of this assignment. Frankly, it helps me sleep at night.
