Create your own mascot

For this post you had to create your own mascot for a blog you have and this was what I came up with. I have no idea why an indian head came into my mind but this was the first thing I thought of. I don’t know what I would name the indian head, and this was made in Adobe Illustrator. I love how it turned out, and I got some good practice in Adobe while making this.

Image Manipulation and Historical Narrative

This is a famous photo that was taken on top of Mt. Suribachi during the battle for Iwo Jima. This is one of the most Iconic Photos taken during WWII. The men in the photo were United States Marines, and this photo has stood for a sign of heroism and bravery. An interesting fact about this photo, was that this was not the first flag raised on top of the mountain, for a couple hours before this photo was taken, the US had taken the hill and raised a flag, but they felt the flag was to small to see from the base of the mountain, so they raised a different and much larger flag, which became this iconic photo. I used the photo editor that was on my computer to saturate the photo to this brownish tint, which I felt made the image pop out a little bit more rather than a black and white photo. I feel it also made the photograph seem a little more worn, or aged. This photo represents the heart and soul of freedom, and the vision of victory for all of WWII.

Whats in your bag?

This is my bag and its contents. In my bag I keep my sketch book, because I have an art class which uses it, but I like to sketch on my own time as well. I keep a textbook in my bag for one of my classes, then I keep a spiral notebook of paper, which has multiple uses for multiple classes. My keys are in my bag because I don’t like to keep them in my pocket, and then I have my pencils and sharpies for class for writing and for highlighting. My wallet I place in my bag because it gets uncomfortable to sit on, and I find it easier to just keep it in my bag. I have headphones for my iPod, and I have a pocket knife for my job which I have after classes, and I use it for multiple maintenance tasks at work. It is a good multi-tool. This is my bag contents, and I use all of it everyday.

Cartoonize Something

Cartoonize something! I chose to do this assignment because I don’t have many of the photoshop programs working on my computer yet and this was available for my use on my computer already. I own an Iron man mask because he is my favorite superhero. I figured that would be the best thing to cartoonize since he originally was a comic book character. The style for the photo editor was the perfect kind of cartoonization for that old school comic book style. Overall this project was pretty cool, and I learned a little bit more about photo editing.
