For this post, I chose to work on What a Crappy Font Will do. I chose Google’s logo and tried different fonts. When doing so, no other font seemed right to resemble Google. This shows the importance of using a certain font to represent a specific company/industry. If Google or any other logo changes their font or color, it would take time so that the viewers would accept it.

Way Back Time Machine
This time, I chose to do Way Back Time Machine under the web assignments. For this assignment, we are asked to use the Way Back Time Machine to see how a certain website changed overtime. I chose our school’s website, starting form 1997 to 2015.
When looking at the website from 1997, it is clear that it is full of so many repetitive tabs to navigate around the website. For example, one can see that the taps which are included within the photograph at the top of the page are repeated when scrolling down the page. Also there are different links that are provided under the photograph, which are also repeated. Overall, the website looked not very well organized.
The same thing was done with the new layout of the 1998 website. links are repeated and the viewer needs to scroll down, with the only difference of the addition of more photographs to the page as well as creating a new area for enrolled students.
The new update appeared in the year of 2002. The update used less space in the homepage than the previous two. It included fewer links and tabs and no need to scroll down the page. It also included the school’s recent mascot.
The 2007 update, looked very neat and easier to navigate by creating different spaces for future students, enrolled students and faculty & Staff. It also displays the school’s news and latest projects, that we still see in today’s homepage.
Apparently, The layout of the homepage we see today, was in use since 2009. The homepage looked more neat, simple and very well-organized. It also contains tabs for WSU campuses in other cities at the top, which makes it easier for students from other campuses to use the website. (Pictures are missing and the Way Back Time Machine won’t upload them)
With all the changes that the school’s website undergone, it is very clear that the website changes to appear more and more simpler and organized overtime, rather than seeing the same components repeated over and over again to fill the page. This shows how web designers and developers are aware of the viewer’s needs to find what they are looking for right in front of without spending time trying to find where to go and what to click on. Also websites that fits the viewers screen with no need to scroll are found easier, simpler and precise because it forces the page to contain only the most important links/tabs.
My Favorite Lyric
For this assignment, My Favorite Lyric. It is a visual assignment that was to create a picture of favorite lyric with a matching background picture. I chose the lyric from Natasha Bedingfield’s Pocketful of Sunshine song and matched it with a photograph that I found. While working on the assignment, I wanted to text to look more like a handwritten style rather than basic formal style.
