“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald
This quote has caught my attention whenever I come across it. I don’t want to sound too touchy and emotional but often times we are taught to be a certain way. This could simply be the media, parents, peers, family, and even society. . This quote is just a reminder that we are free and have the freedom to do or be whoever we want, whenever we want. If I want to dye my hair pink tomorrow I can, if I want to drop out of WSU and move to a different state I can. (Not that this is really happening this is just an example). Life is too short to not do what you actually desire. I feel like we often feel limited to certain aspects of life, we may think that we are stuck in a bubble where we are limited and can only be or do certain things, but in reality we are not. This quote basically says do whatever you want, regardless of what anyone says, thinks, or tells you to do. At the end, we have power over ourselves.
