I decided to make a word cloud because I think they’re pretty cool and I like how text can have so much style and design to it. I decided to do a college life word cloud considering I embrace these emotions everyday. Tuition, Opportunities, Stress, Challenge, Homework, Friends, Life, Fun, WSU, NoSleep, and Pullman. I feel like the colors I chose reflect perfectly upon my emotions because black is a strong color and orange, tan and red are strong colors as well. Black is a serious color (which is how I feel about college) and the text colors are strong, neutral and serious which makes a good combination. College is fun, but if anything it’s more serious because you have to take college seriously if you want to be able to have fun.

 

I chose to go with the traveling pinterest board blog. Above is a screenshot of my traveling board. Pinterest has a lot of great and beautiful pictures, this was my first time repinning photos. I recently went to Las Vegas for my sister’s 21st birthday, it was my first time going and I will never forget the great experience I had. Traveling to cities and states makes me wonder why I live in Washington sometimes. There is so much beauty to explore and I feel like sometimes we don’t realize that. I have traveled to Mexico, New York, California, Oregon, Arizona, Idaho, and those are the only ones I can remember as of right now. However, my dream is to travel to Europe, hopefully Spain. I’m fluent in Spanish so I know I’d easily communicate with spaniards. My dream isn’t just necessarily to travel to Spain, I’d like to see other parts of the world as well. I don’t think anything is more exciting than traveling. I love learning about different cultures, food, meeting different people and seeing how different cities and my surroundings can be. Hopefully I can get the opportunity to travel more often in the future, as of right now I’m focused on being able to graduate this May and saving up to move out into Portland.

This quote has caught my attention whenever I come across it. I don’t want to sound too touchy and emotional but often times we are taught to be a certain way. This could simply be the media, parents, peers, family, and even society. . This quote is just a reminder that we are free and have the freedom to do or be whoever we want, whenever we want. If I want to dye my hair pink tomorrow I can, if I want to drop out of WSU and move to a different state I can. (Not that this is really happening this is just an example). Life is too short to not do what you actually desire. I feel like we often feel limited to certain aspects of life, we may think that we are stuck in a bubble where we are limited and can only be or do certain things, but in reality we are not. This quote basically says do whatever you want, regardless of what anyone says, thinks, or tells you to do. At the end, we have power over ourselves.

I thought the warning poster was pretty funny and flexible so I decided to create my own poster. This is super random and I couldn’t think of an idea until I saw my boyfriend drinking green tea. Although it may appear to be funny I believe warning posters are very important to our society nowadays. There are many stories regarding how people have sued companies, businesses or people due to the lack of warning posters. A very popular example is the Mcdonald’s hot coffee case which occurred in 1992. The lady spilt her coffee on her lap and had severe burns. As a result, she sued Mcdonalds and after losing tons of money, they heavily rely on worded warnings on cups to avoid future liability. For those of you who haven’t noticed, Mcdonald’s has the caution label on the coffee cups.

Some people may assume incidents like these are just excuses or ignorant people trying to make money, but either way companies will be responsible for any damage done to their customers. At least if one of your customers tries to accuse you of something, having a warning sign will save you against many lawsuits and losing money. Our society is all about having good communication, without communication we are lost, angry and confused. This is also an example of how poor communication can hurt all of us.
